Male infertility
Male infertility
Common physiological factors contributing to male infertility include testicular dysfunction, insufficient sperm motility or count, reproductive tract infections, obstructed vas deferens, sexual dysfunction, and varicocele. Lifestyle factors such as long-term smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, inadequate sleep, or chronic stress can also adversely affect fertility. Additionally, genetic factors have been implicated in certain cases of azoospermia or oligospermia in males.
Our reproductive specialist will obtain the male patient's medical history, perform physical examinations, hormone secretion tests, semen analysis, and genetic tests as needed to assess comprehensively. Referral to a urologist may be necessary for further assessment. To restore fertility, pharmacological treatments may involve medications for erectile dysfunction. Surgical interventions such as varicocele ligation or surgical sperm retrieval may also be considered.
